Isle of Wight Weekender
Join us for a mini nautical adventure to the Isle of Wight. We'll be exploring this charming island by foot and boat- setting off from the mainland and spending the night in the charming town of Cowes.
Meeting in the morning in Hamble-le-Rice on the Solent, We'll board a RIB (rigid inflatable boat), skippered by Frui Director James, who, will whisk us across the Solent and along the coast of the Isle of Wight while we master the challenges of shooting from a moving boat!
We'll land at Yarmouth and go ashore for lunch in a local cafe.
Then it's time to photograph one of the Island's- and possibly England's- most iconic sights: The Needles. These picturesque white rocks, jutting into the sea and topped with a lighthouse, always make great pictures. With our own boat at our disposal, we can experiment with different angles for the perfect shot.
Later we'll head to Ryde- if the weather's good we'll go all the way around the Island- capturing seascapes in the afternoon light as we go. The Round the Island yacht race is also on today, so there'll be plenty of colourful sails to enhance our pictures.
In Ryde we'll check into our accommodation before hitting the seaside town for dinner and a few drinks. As the sun sets we can capture photos of the twinkling lights reflected in the town's harbour.
This morning there's an optional early rise for a landscape photography shoot at the beach, then head back to our B&B for breakfast.
After which we'll check out and jump aboard the boat for the short hop to Cowes. A classic English seaside town, Cowes will provide us with plenty of opportunities for observational street pictures.
After lunch we'll cross the solent back to the mainland, arriving at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Home to HMS Victory, the Mary Rose and other famous ships, this makes a fascinating final stop on our weekend adventure before we motor back to Hamble-Le-Rice. Back at the marina bar there's time for a quick review of the weekend's best photos before heading home!
