Hampshire Wine Weekend

Join English wine expert Katrina Smith on an epic adventure of Hampshire vineyards and sample some of the county's finest still and sparkling wines.

Introduction

For those of you who know us, you’ll know we are not averse to having a glass or three of wine at the end of a day of being creative! In fact it’s not uncommon for us to visit the odd vineyard as part of our regular tours.

Well now, we’re taking the wine drinking to another level and have teamed up with the wine expert from Tipple Talk, Katrina Smith, a Master of Wine candidate and champion blind taster with over 10 years of experience, to run an exclusive weekend wine tour of some of the best vineyards in Hampshire.

Whos the guide?

Katrina has lived in Hampshire for 7 years and during this time has become greatly involved with the English wine industry. Katrina has worked in wine retail, shipping and tourism, with her most recent role in education at Hambledon Vineyard in Hampshire. Katrina completed her WSET Diploma in 2018, picking up the Louis Jadot prize for outstanding results and the McNie Trophy for best tasting marks globally. Now enrolled onto the Master of Wine course.

What makes this trip special?

Although the UK was considered an epicentre for viticultural practices back in the Roman times, English wine today is very much considered an emerging category. Most of the 6 million bottles produced annually across England and Wales are sparkling, with still wines gaining in popularity as the climate becomes more temperate. The majority of the UK's 700 vineyards are based in the South of England, with Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire particularly excelling in both quantity and quality.

This wine weekender will be fun, engaging and of course,  just a little bit educational as we meet with dynamic wine producers, eat delicious food, enjoy amazing scenery, with Katrina as our expert wine guide.
