Before starting Frui, James was a painter, curator and tutor. After completing his BA in Fine Art and an MA in Fine Art Painting, James spent a number of years teaching art and photography at various higher education colleges. Passionate about promoting the arts, James has curated a number of acclaimed exhibitions and continues to broadcast on social media about art, travel and food.  

Frui Tutor Selwyn teaches on our Abruzzo, Kerala and Marrakech Painting holidays. He also hosts Frui’s super fun Drink & Draw events in London. 

Described by past guests as ‘social lubricant’, sitting down to dinner with Selwyn will mean non-stop conversation and laughing!

Selwyn is a full time landscape painter with an MA in Fine Art from the Wimbledon School of Art. An experienced tutor and lecturer, Selwyn teaches fine art at diploma level.

Meeting new people and visiting rarely trodden paths in exciting destinations inspire professional travel photographer Filip. He loves shooting social documentary, landscape and fine art projects, and is the perfect go-to for top photo tips.

Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and fun loving, Filip will go out of his way to ensure you get the most out of your holiday (and always have a glass of bubbly in your hand when you need it!)

Filip’s infectious passion for photography and travel has resulted in his work being exhibited and sold nationally and being featured in countless publications.

Passionate about photography, travel and food, Simon is one of Frui’s London based photography tutors, and also teaches on our worldwide holidays.

Simon has taught literally hundreds of photography courses with Frui and loves inspiring budding snappers to get out there and be more creative with their cameras.

Simon has over 10 years photographic experience and a first-class honours degree in photography. He specialises in shooting in natural light.

Kay Lockett (no relation to James!) is a professional photographer specialising in documentary projects, portraits, food & lifestyle. She has a background in journalism so she’s naturally inquisitive.

She has a deeply curious in nature which shines through in her personality and teaching.

Competing internationally as a young gymnast spawned a love of adventure and immersing herself in different cultures, making her the perfect travel companion!
