Goths and castles: the North York Moors weekender
Get away for the weekend to photograph moody landscapes, industrial seascapes and moody goths - yes, goths! On this weekender we'll shoot Scarborough Castle at sunset, photograph the rugged coastline from Scarborough to Staithes and head to Whitby to experience the world famous Goth festival.
From street portraits, to pubs in the picturesque seaside town of Robin Hood's Bay, to shooting Falling Foss waterfall, this weekender has everything!
Itinerary includes:
On Friday we’ll arrive check into our hotel, then we’ll explore the picturesque town of Scarborough. shooting the coastal promenade, through the old town to the castle.
On Saturday we’ll take in the amazing coastline. There are towering cliffs and rocky shores, steep wooded valleys (or 'wykes)', and sheltered bays and sandy beaches. To make the most of this we’ll walk one of the trails along the cliff of the Cleveland Way from the heritage town of Staithes to Kettleness. Then we’ll head to Whitby to experience the world famous Goth festival: capturing street photos around the Whitby Spa Pavilion, West Cliff, and the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey.
On Sunday we’ll head through Sneaton Forest to the Falling Foss- a beautiful waterfall. Then to the expanse of Robin Hood's Bay, before checking out the Old Coastguard Station and having lunch in Smuggler's Inn.
