Introdution

Ukraine is big, in fact, it's Europe’s biggest country and packs a lot of diversity into its borders. On this amazing trip to Ukraine, we’ll see the majestic and vibrant Kyiv and Livi, explore the ghost towns and deserted buildings of Chornobyl and make our way by sleeper train to the undiscovered  Transcarpathian region. Here we’ll see a rich cultural tapestry and unique photographic opportunities to be had within the time forgotten local communities.

What Makes This Trip Special?

The trip has been curated with the help of local Ukrainian friends who will give us access to the rural way of life that time has forgotten. Enjoying local hospitality and feasting on abundant wonderful local produce. Knowing the friendly villagers will mean that you’ll be invited in homes to join in drinks, cooking and to be part of the family. This will allow you to get really fantastic images and photographing time. It’s is a really unique and chance to meet the people of Ukraine and get under the skin of the country

From the vast landscapes of the Carpathians, the Gothic churches of Lviv, the Stalinist facades of Kyiv to the ubiquitous Soviet high-rises, Ukraine has a simply amazing and contrasting range of subjects to photograph.

Ukraine is one of Europe’s last real travel frontiers, a people that are still in touch with their colourful tradition. It's a country where you can still get off-the-map experiences. Despite first impressions, you’ll quickly find out that Ukrainians are one of Europe’s most open and hospitable people. You’ll soon be slurping 'borshch' in someone’s Soviet-era kitchen, listening to a fellow train passenger’s life story all great opportunities to get that perfect shot!

Run as an eco-lodge, rooms here are tastefully decorated, simple, clean and the money made from the go directly back into the community.

Because of the unique nature of this remote location, rooms at the guesthouse have shared a bathroom. If you feel this will be a problem for you please get in contact and we can try to find you some alternative accommodation in a homestay.
