Photography in Nepal

Ancient streets, colourful culture and enigmatic wild animals, all nestled amongst the world's most spectacular mountain range.

Introduction

In Nepal some of the world's most spectacular natural sights are juxtaposed with the vivid colours and architecture of distinctive Hindu and Buddhist cultures. Featuring a huge variety of incredible scenes and experiences, this nine-day trip will see you wandering the backstreets of Kathmandu, visiting a monkey temple, taking a boat to a lake island, searching for rhino and tigers in a national park, staying with a Nepali family in a rural village and photographing some of the world's biggest mountains.

What Makes This Trip Special?

On all Frui trips we're determined to seek out the unexpected as well as the iconic. In between Nepal's big sights we'll encounter plenty of its hidden gems as we explore by car, boat and foot and even spend a night in a local homestay. Our in-country logistics on this trip will be handled by Kieran Harkin, a wildlife conservationist who's discovered the best Nepal has to offer over his countless trips to the country. Kieran will take us to the best viewpoints, the most photogenic streets, the top wildlife- spotting locations and of course the best bars! And like all Frui trips the learning will be approached with a distinctly sociable vibe, with many an opportunity for a sundown drink or two.

Why Photograph Here?

Nepal is one of those places that makes photography easy. From the jagged snow-capped peaks of the world's largest mountain range to the piercing stare of a dreadlocked Sadhu (holy man) or a glimpse of a wild elephant through the grasses, this small country is packed with iconic photo opportunities. Helping you to make the most of all this beauty will be one of Frui's tutors- expert photographers who are always on hand to help out with constructive feedback, technical tips and artistic inspiration.
