Photography in Provence Cote d'Azure

Sparkling seas, stunning medieval towns and sublime alpine scenery make this a perfect region for a relaxing week of creativity.

Introduction

Amazing Mountain landscapes, pristine natural parks, charming perched hilltop villages, sprawling beaches and an unparalleled artistic legacy. This southeastern parcel contains some of the loveliest and most accessible mountain landscapes in France. With Local knowledge (Frui boss James' family live in the area) You'll see what this magical part of france has to offer.

An art lover’s paradise, this was the stomping ground of some of the 20th century’s great masters – Matisse, Picasso, Chagall, Bonnard, Léger and Le Corbusier who loved the incredible colours and light that were so different from the implacable grey of Paris.

Why Photograph Here?

Provence–Alpes–Côte d’Azur is one of the most demographically dynamic régions of France. It’s know on the world stage for its glitz and glamour of the Riviera, but drive away from the coast and you’ll be passing through scenic hill villages and dramatic craggy scenery topped with snow-capped mountains. From here you can shoot the stunning landscapes with deep valleys and olive groves that look out across the Mediterranean. In the wonderfully photogenic villages, the cobbled lanes are filled with magnolia and daphne, mingling with ancient clay pipes and electrical wires from the 1950s, the small, monastic windows of apartments in buliding almost untouched since the middle ages.

What Makes This Trip Special?

As the Frui boss, James has family who’ve lived the area for years this trip has a family feel. With expert local knowledge which will help you slip in the Provincial feeling without any effort.  It’s a very special place where you can not only get creative but also slow down, relax and enjoy a glass of rosé in the village square in the golden hour.
