Frui adopts a positive teaching approach, meaning our encouraging and supportive tutors focus on what you are doing right, not wrong. As most tutors with Frui come from fine art backgrounds, and not just purely photographic, they focus on the creative aspects of photography, rather than solely the technical. First and foremost photography is all about looking - this is something we feel very passionately about.
No two tours are the same, and our small group sizes mean that we can tailor tuition to our guests, so whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you’ll always learn new things. As well as introducing you to important camera settings tutors will encourage you to develop your own photographic voice and will draw out what is individual about your style and approach.
On this trip we’ll have a couple of sit-down lessons lasting around 30 minutes. Your tutor will be on hand throughout the day offering advice and tips when you need them, giving you tips relevant to the subject and setting the occasional challenge. When possible we’ll look at the best images from the day- a great way to learn from each other.
On this holiday, some of the things you will learn include:
- All about exposure: ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed plus more advanced settings
- Night photography techniques
- Street photography techniques, with examples from the masters of the genre
- A greater appreciation and understanding of light
