Photography in Bologna

With so much life and youthful activity against a backdrop of centuries- old streets, this is a fantastic place for a short photographic break. And that’s before you consider the food…

Introduction

Bologna’s history stretches back a thousand years, but its streets are alive and buzzing. As Europe’s oldest university town, the city centre is a museum of beautiful colonnades and cathedrals. But as capital of Italy’s most prosperous region it also has the spirit of a lived-in modern city.

What makes this trip special?

As with so many Frui trips, when we’re not shooting we’ll be sampling the best of the location’s food and drink. And Bologna just happens to be the culinary capital of one of the most culinary countries in the world! This is the home of dishes like tagliatelli ragu Bolognese, lasagne and gelato, and some of Italy’s most famous food products originate in the surrounding area.

Why Photograph Here?

The endless colonnades of the city provide opportunities to experiment with light. There’s the chance to change your angles, shooting from high above the rooftops or down amongst the streets and markets. With an expert Frui tutor with you the whole time, you’ll have all the help you need to improve your pictures and develop your style.
