Landscape through the Lens

Uncover the techniques of landscape photography in London's rambling Hampstead Heath. During this workshop we shall look at different genres within landscape photography, such as black and white, classic and contemporary styles, and set fun exercises to inspire you!

Firstly, you’ll meet your tutor (a professional photographer) and head up onto the heath to take some initial shots, where your tutor will explain how to appreciate and make the most of the morning light.

Next, you'll head to a cafe to sit down, warm up and go over some theory of landscape photography with your cameras and tripods. You'll look at examples of famous landscape photographer's work for artistic inspiration, and discuss the technical aspects of the camera such as ISO, aperture and exposure.

Then you’ll head back outside with your tutor, who, through setting you a series of quick and fun photography assignments, will help you to hone your eye, and look at classic and contemporary styles of landscape photography, allowing you to experiment with different genres and really get to grips with what landscape photography is about.

This course takes place from 8.30-11.30am, to capture the best of the early morning light.
