Brecon Beacons Weekender

Join us on our inspiring one-off weekender in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park and photograph some of the finest walking paths in Europe!

We'll be based in Crickhowell, a medieval town nestled in the beautiful Usk Valley, south of the Black Mountains. From here there is no shortage of world-class photography opportunities, from crumbling abbeys, to imposing castles, to crooked churches to the sublime vistas of the National Park.

With expert tuition, non-stop photography fun, hearty feeds and evening drinks at cosy country pubs, this is an unmissable photography weekender!

You will photograph

  • Landscapes around the Black Mountains
  • The most crooked church in Great Britain
  • Llangorse Lake
  • The medieval streets of Crickhowell
  • Blaen-y-glyn waterfalls
  • The Monmouthshire Canal
  • The ancient ramparts of Blaenllynfi Castle

When

12 - 14 October 2018 (Fri-Sun)

What you'll learn

You’ll have the opportunity to learn or refresh your architectural, landscape and panoramic photography skills. You’ll be sure to come away with some cracking images!

Accommodation

We will be staying at The Dragon Inn, 47 High Street, Crickhowell, Powys, Wales, NP8 1BE. Rooms are selling out fast on this weekend, so we advise booking your accommodation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Guests are responsible for securing their own accommodation. Alternatively you can secure any accommodation in or around Crickhowell, as this is where we will be based.

Travel

Guests are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the Brecon Beacons. We recommend taking the train to Abergavenny, via Newport Gwent. The tutor will fetch and drop you at the station.

Train schedules yet are to be confirmed but the following trains, from last year, give an idea of timings.

12 October, depart London Paddington 13.45, arrive Abergavenny 16.01 (change at Newport Gwent)

14 October, depart Abergavenny 16.06, arrive London Paddington 19.43 (change at Newport Gwent)

There will be plenty of walking involved over the weekend on uneven terrain so bring walking boots and ensure you are at a suitable fitness level.

  • Two full days of photography tuition
  • Road transfers in Beacon Beacons
  • Stunning landscapes and locations
  • Evening Photo Feedback Sessions
  • As always with Frui, your tutors will take care of your evey need
